Erik Compton is a Search Consultant on the Consumer Products Team at Protis.  As a specialist in Trade Marketing and Category Management, Erik focuses on business development and recruiting for positions from management level to vice president with all clients in beverage, snack foods, candy and confection.

Prior to joining the Protis CPG team, Erik worked for the Adidas Group.  Erik was hired into a management training program that reported directly to the General Manager.  This position provided tremendous exposure to several different areas of the business.  Ultimately, Erik was promoted to the position of Staffing and Recruiting Specialist.  In this role, he was responsible for the staffing and recruiting of a 900 employee facility, which was inclusive of three shift operations, front office and cyclical hiring needs.

Outside of Protis, Erik’s interests are many.  Erik is an avid sports fan.  He pitched in college, however, now relegates himself to an occasional slow pitch softball game.  Erik’s favorite teams include the Cubs, the Indianapolis Colts, and the University of Illinois men’s basketball and football teams (he has had season tickets to both Illinois men’s basketball and Illinois men’s football his entire life!).

Erik is an award winning artist.  He enjoys drawing portraits and his mediums of choice are pencil drawing and ink stippling.  Although his work has been limited the last few years, he has begun to revisit this treasured hobby.

Erik graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University.  This fall, he will be attending classes at Indiana University to complete his MBA.

Erik and his wife Stephanie, an elementary school teacher, reside in Indianapolis and will celebrate their first wedding anniversary this year.
